Anita Moorjani's Incredible Recovery From Cancer

I first read Anita Moorjani's story about her incredible recovery from cancer in 2012. Her book "Dying to be Me" is one I often refer back to about Near Death Experiences, and believe me I have read many books on this subject. I think for anyone who is scared of dying, Dying to be Me, might bring them some comfort and help them to start living an abundant life. Anita Moorjani was terrified of dying and she writes about that fear, and the fear of many other things, in Dying t

Sauerkraut for Health Benefits

Did you know that you can use Sauerkraut for health benefits? People have been making Sauerkraut for thousands of years because of the health benefits of fermented vegetables. Research shows that Sauerkraut can help you in many ways, and it actually tastes good too. It is always best to make your own Sauerkraut, however if you don't have the time do your research and make sure you buy a brand that is organic and has no nasties added to it. Also remember Sauerkraut is high in

Anti Inflammatory Diet For The Flu

At time of writing Australia has been hit badly with the flu, including a number of deaths which has been very sad. Personally, I've had pneumonia before and that was bad, but nothing has ever compared to the length of severity of this bout of the flu. In fact it took me close to seven weeks to start to recover. This is why I was inspired to write this post about an anti inflammatory diet for the flu! This was my saviour! My flu started one Friday afternoon, and it wasn't jus

Save Your Skin and Help Save Sun Bears

By purchasing a new SPF 50+ sunscreen 80 percent of its profits will go to protecting endangered Sun Bears. Sun Bear Sunscreen (RRP $34.95, 200ml) is proud to introduce a seriously protective, Australian-made, SPF 50+ sunscreen, created to save the word’s smallest bear, the Sun Bear, one tube at a time. This social enterprise is a palm oil-free sunscreen that helps protect both humans and Sun Bears. Sun Bears, have become vulnerable due to widespread deforestation and illeg

Dana Vulin A Story About Power

No one should ever go through what Dana Vulin has been through. Dana's story is one of the most inspirational I've ever read and it's worth sharing with my readers. In 2013 Dana was set on fire by a jealous ice-addict. The criminal is a woman called Natalie Dimitrovska who is now serving 17 years for this horrible crime. Not enough if you ask me; she should get life. If there is ever a reason to wipe out the drug ICE then this is a story that must be read. Through her craz

When Sick Children Need Transport to Hospital

Photo: Charlie in her seat on the jet I remember years ago when my youngest daughter, Grace, was just a baby. She had a bit of a rough time with Kidney Reflux, a Bacterial infection and even Scarlett Fever. We had numerous ambulance trips and the most harrowing for me was when they took my baby away for a lumber puncture. They were scary times for new mum. Once, when Grace was in hospital my husband took his turn in sitting with her whilst I drove the 45 minutes home to hav

Finding Resilience The Barnaby Howarth Way

I have known Barnaby Howarth for a number of years now having met him when I was in the Speaker Bureau Industry. From the moment I met Barnaby Howarth, I was truly inspired with his determination, resilience and outlook on life, despite suffering from something that no young man, or anyone for that matter be subjected to. At age 14 Barnaby was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, then at 25 he was bashed by a gang who were full of alcohol resulting in a stroke and disability. Desp

Thank you mum for bringing me into this world.

Photo Instagram Today I am heading to the country to see my eldest daughter who moved up to Northern NSW a few years ago. She is settled down into country life with her man and puppy dog (the one with me in the picture on the sidebar). I’m really excited to see her and spend some time. It’s hard being a mum when your child is so far away. At the same time I’m dreading going, and again, it comes down to being a mum. I’m dreading seeing my mother, because she is very sick in ho

In Sickness and in Health

As I write this I feel very sad. I have just returned from Christmas with my family and my mother is extremely sick. To date she has had three strokes, numerous lung problems and suffering from emphysema as a result of 70 years of heavy smoking. I think mum’s smoking was what make me decide when I was a little girl that I would never smoke, and I haven never in my whole life even tried a puff. Mum can’t walk without assistance, she can’t read or concentrate enough to do puzzl
